6 Reasons Why You Should Choose Me as a House Sitter
Often pet hotels are expensive and stressful for pets. A promising, affordable alternative is a caring pet/house sitter. But choosing the right one may not be an easy task. Let me share with you who I am and why I am the ideal person to care for your pet(s) and home.

Reason #1: I love pets!
My family has always had pets, first cats and then dogs.
As a child, my siblings and I would find ways to feed and care for stray dogs.
When we lived in Argentina, we would rescue abandoned puppies near our home. We would feed them until they were strong and then find them a loving home. We cared for 12 puppies, and we kept three: Balu, Shere Kan and Frida.

Reason #2: Your home will be cared for by a mature adult!
My parents taught me, “ If you take good care of what’s yours, then take good care of what belongs to others as well.” Teaching that I have always applied. For example, for the last two and a half years my wife and I have been renting the apartment we’re living in and we daily care for the apartment as if it were ours. We like to live in a clean environment and believe in caring for other people’s space.

Reason #3: I’m a responsible guy!
As an adult, parent and grand-parent, I take responsibility for my commitments. So if I say that we will take care of your house and your pet, rest assured, I will. My parents would also say: “you will be an adult when you take your first responsibility.” And so … I’ve been an adult for quite some time.
Reason #4: I’m going to spend a lot of time with your pets!
I am a terrible tourist! Instead of going out to see the surroundings, I prefer to be at home, reading a good book, watching a catchy movie or listening to an interesting podcast. Besides, as a freelance writer, I usually have a lot of work to do.
Reason #5: The walk of your pets is assured!
Although I like to be at home, I usually walk for at least two hours every day. So walking your dogs will not be an obligation but a pleasurable part of my daily routine.
Reason #6: I studied veterinary medicine
I can administer medication to your pet if required. Although I haven’t practiced veterinary medicine in the last 20 years, I know to give first aid in the unlikely event that your pet suffers an accident or falls ill.
If given the opportunity to care for your precious pets, I would love them like my own.
Why do I want to be a house sitter?
In January, my wife and I will start to live with my daughter, her husband, and our grandson. Because of my work, I need quiet environments to write, and I will have very few of them in the new house. So taking care of pets, I can have a quiet place to write my articles.
About the pet sitter
My name is Jorge Luis Alonso G., and I was born in Colombia. I am 64 years old.
With my family, I lived in Argentina for 15 years, and we have both citizenships.
I have a wife, two daughters, two sons-in-law and a grandson. We arrived in Canada at different times, with my wife and I being the last to get here in January 2019.
